Pizza Hut's deep-pan talent management master plan

Maintaining a healthy talent lifecycle is a core part of HR practice. But this is a challenge as data has shown that employers have struggled to attract and develop top talent, as well as engage and retain them too during the last year.
For example, research from Randstad UK, found that almost one-quarter (24%) of workers say they plan to switch jobs in the next few months. Additionally, TotalJobs’ Hiring Trends Index found that 29% of UK businesses expect skills shortages to impact their success in the final quarter of 2021.
In front of the backdrop of these challenges, this issue of myGrapevine magazine focuses on how to get better at talent management, reflecting on how some employers have navigated this in the past, with pointers on how to get this right in the future.
Inside, as employers look forwards, and with the New Year fast-approaching, we asked our advisory board experts how HR can improve talent management in 2022. We also interviewed M&S’ Head of Talent and Early Careers to find out how its programmes for early careers talent helps deliver the skills that the business needs. For the cover story, we spoke to Pizza Hut’s Chief People and Marketing Officer, Kathryn Austin, to find out why education and transparency are essential to the firm’s talent management strategy.
As ever, we hope that you find this content though-provoking and useful as you head into 2022.
