AkzoNobel's UK HR Director talks about 'Wellfest'

As HR practitioners will know all too well, workforce expectations have changed in the last few years, with employees increasingly wanting greater support from employers when it comes to workplace wellbeing. 2020 data from Secondsight found that 51% of staff believe that their employer should be offering more to support employee mental health. Additionally, Nudge Global statistics have revealed that 66% feel unsupported by their employer when it comes to financial wellbeing. With this in mind, and if employers and HR want to attract, recruit, engage and retain top talent amid the ‘Great Resignation’, workplace wellbeing must be a top priority.
These are some of the themes that this issue of myGrapevine magazine speaks to. For this issue’s cover story, we spoke to AkzoNobel’s UK HR Director to find out more about the firm’s wellbeing festival ‘Wellfest’, as well as why it's important to give employees a voice. We also interviewed Virgin Money’s Group Chief People & Communications Officer about the organisation’s ‘A Life More Virgin’ employment package.
Also inside is an exciting, exclusive Q&A interview with The Glenmorangie Company’s HR Director. Additionally, one year on from an initial interview, myGrapevine magazine caught up with Ocado Group’s Global Head of Health and Wellbeing to find out how the firm’s wellbeing strategy has developed in the last year.
As ever, we hope that you find the content in this issue useful and informative!
