P&G's people-driven approach to a sustainable future

Increasingly, employees are looking for more than just a job that lines their pockets with cash at the end of each month; they want to work for companies that engage in sustainable practices and are actively seeking to be a force for good. This is backed by statistics: in a poll of 1,500 employees carried out by Businesswaste.co.uk, over two-thirds (67%) demand that we become more sustainable, while OfficeTeams data found that employees would actually leave their current role to find an organisation with a higher purpose or stronger mission (12%). With these issues increasingly topping the employee wish list, it is crucial for employers to consider how they can get better.
This is why sustainability and purpose are the key topics that this issue speaks to. To explore what firms are doing in this area and how employers can get better, in this issue of myGrapevine magazine we asked our advisory board experts what role HR plays in supporting CSR and sustainability, and interviewed the Head of Communications at AkzoNobel UK & Ireland to find out how sustainability can tie into employee purpose. For this month’s cover feature interview, we interviewed P&G’s VP of HR for Northern Europe to find out how employees help advance the firm’s commitment to the environment and equality.
As ever, we hope that you find the content in this issue useful and informative!
