Traditional resourcing tactics might be broken. According to research conducted by Career Builder, a massive 74% of employers admit that they’ve hired the wrong person for a position. Additionally, whilst providing a CV is still the generally accepted way of applying for a job, a Criteria study states that up to 78% of resumes are misleading and up to 46% contain actual lies. Luckily, there is a solution; companies who utilise pre-hire assessments report a 39% lower turnover rate, and those who opt to use them are 36% more satisfied with the outcome, according to data from the Aberdeen Group.
It’s clear that without assessment and testing, hiring managers are simply reaching in the dark, hoping that the talent that they hire lives up to their expectations, and aligns with their cultures.
But how does it work, who uses it and what are the outcomes? To answer these questions and more, we present to you the 2019 edition of HR Grapevine’s Assessment & Testing Guide.
