Operating across almost 130 countries, with a workforce of more than 100,000, and 2025 revenues topping out at a little over £40billion, Anish Lalchandani, Global Head of Talent Management, Maersk, has had to answer the question of how to understand, identify, and develop skills at serious scale.

What is a skills canvas, and why is it so important?

“We need to really understand where the change is happening from a business point of view? If you really understand how the business model is changing, how automation and other critical forces will impact it, then you start to understand the kind of skills which are being impacted,” said Lalchandani.
