When one sweaty, exhausted, and triumphant Para-powerlifting athlete secures gold in Glasgow on July 24, it will be the first of more than 200 medals to be won during the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

From 23 July to 2 August, the Games will bring together over 3,000 athletes from 74 nations for a truly world-class festival of sport and culture.

While the athletes will rightly earn the headlines, these moments of joy, relief, and victory will be made possible by more than 3,000 volunteers working tirelessly to bring the event to life.

These volunteers, said Eilidh Doyle – Scotland’s most decorated Track and Field athlete and three-time Commonwealth silver medalist – are “integral to the success of a Games.”
