Everton Football Club has committed to offering a ‘Living Pension’ for all staff, going beyond the legal minimum for employer contributions.
It is the first Premier League football club to sign up to the Living Wage Foundation’s Living Pension accreditation, joining 75 other employers, including insurance company Aviva, energy company SSE Plc, and law firm Herbert Smith Freehills.
The club said it has offered pension contributions beyond the legal, auto-enrolment minimum for several years, but is taking the step to further help staff save for their retirement.
What is the Living Pension accreditation & why did Everton sign up?
The Living Pension is a “voluntary standard from the Living Wage Foundation, helping workers build a pension pot for a decent standard of living in retirement,” a statement from the Living Wage Foundation said.
