Only 14% of new firms have plans and policies to encourage inclusion and diversity in the workplace, according to a poll by First Round Capital of 700 people involved in senior leadership at a start-up.
As a company grows, it becomes harder to change this – as seen by the dearth of diversity in FTSE 100 UK Boards currently; of which eight per cent are non-white and 25% female, although this figure drops when applied to executive committee roles only.
