A review backed by the UK Government is expected to say that one in three senior executive positions at FTSE 100 firms should be filled by women by 2020 – Sky News has learnt.
The review, led by Sir Philip Hampton, Chairman of GlaxoSmithKline, will recommend the target for FTSE 100 executive committees and the management layer below that level.
Insiders have informed Sky News that both levels will be aggregated, and this target will only be applied to companies in the FTSE 100, not those in the larger index.
This target aligns with the one that Lord Mervyn Davies set last year as a result of his report into women on Boards. He said 33% of FTSE 350 Boards should have female representation by 2020.
