Director of Recruitment, Sainsbury's: Our new grad scheme will build essential future skills

In January, Sainsbury’s launched its FutureMakers programme, marking an enhanced investment in early careers support and the skills it believes are key to the future of retail.

Roughly 50 graduates will take part in the scheme, rotating through the business and building skills in four key areas AI, business decision-making, change and transformation, and data analytics.

Martin Haywood, Director of Recruitment at Sainsbury’s, joins the HR Grapevine podcast to discuss the programme’s creation, how it will set new hires up for long-term careers, and why it will be key to the retailer’s success as a people-first business.

Haywood is a member of the Resourcing Leaders 100, and this episode marks the second instalment of HR Grapevine’s interview series in partnership with the Resourcing Leaders community.
