Gender pay gap reporting
ACAS’ website lays out that gender pay reporting legislation requires employers, with 250 or more employees, to publish statutory calculations every year, showing how large the pay gap is between their male and female employees.
Suzanne Horne, Employment Partner at Paul Hastings, is of the opinion that “the incoming regulations leave a lot to be desired”.
She explains why: “If public shaming is going to be the stick used to coerce larger employers into reducing their gender pay gap, then the reporting should be an accurate reflection of the gender pay and bonus disparity within the workplace.”
