Feelings and emotions are everywhere. We’re human. Humans have lots of feelings and emotions. So why in business are they rarely encouraged or spoken about?

We’ve all heard the term ‘PMA’ (Positive Mental Attitude) or engaged in conversations around how to stay motivated, driven and passionate. But you won’t often hear dialogue around resentment, anger, rage, shame, fear or despair. These emotions are just as prominent, in fact often more so.

We have between 50,000 and 70,000 thoughts per day, or between 35 and 48 thoughts per minute. Unfortunately, the majority of them are unhelpful. So, is it any wonder that staying in a ‘PMA’ feels impossible? And when we’re not feeling positive, being told that we should be just makes it worse.
