Uber’s President Jeff Jones resigned last month after spending just half a year in the role, citing an irreconcilable culture clash as the reason.

His departure came amid a string of controversies – with allegations of sexism and sexual harassment at the firm, a lawsuit alleging the theft of trade secrets from a competitor and, to top it all off, a video of CEO Travis Kalanick laying into one of Uber’s own drivers.

The former marketing head at Target, Jones was responsible for altering Uber's public image, overseeing international jobs, working with drivers and handling marketing and customer service.

"I joined Uber because of its mission and the challenge to build global capabilities that would help the company mature and thrive in the long-term," Jones told Reuters. "It is now clear, however, that the beliefs and approach to leadership that have guided my career are inconsistent with what I saw and experienced at Uber."
