3. Stay at home parents

Stay at home parents have an incredible amount of responsibility. They clock off only when their children go to bed, and even then, they need to be on call. Throughout the day they act as a supervisor, a chef, a driver, a teacher, a nurse, a cleaner, a manager and a counsellor, all the while hearing that their job isn’t a job at all.

What’s more, returning to work is simply not an option for many mothers and fathers, who would have to contend with high childcare costs if they did.

If you’re still unconvinced of the value of a stay at home parent, consider a Forbes article which calculated that, were they to actually receive a fair wage, a stay at home parent would earn £92,000 per year.
