Sexism is at the top of this week’s newsreels. Rightly so. Less than seven days ago, Donald Trump’s Press Secretary scolded a female White House correspondent for simply doing her job.
On social media, this sparked a backlash as #BlackWomenatWork trended, highlighting the everyday put-downs that women, especially black women, face in their various employments.
Whilst David Moyes, ex-boss of the biggest football club in the world and current Premier League manager, finds himself under intense media scrutiny for making perceived sexist jokes. Again, these were directed at a female reporter simply doing her job.
It’s at work where sexism is cited as an underlying reason for everything from the gender pay gap to unequal dress codes rules.
