International Women’s Day, held yesterday, saw many measures come into effect.

For example, Australian state network ABC removed all male presenters and DJs for the day with the broadcaster's usual output to be fronted by a cohort of female presenters. As you can imagine, this decision was greeted with a numinous roar of approval…

…other workforces saw their female element go on strike, forcing employers to recognise the contribution that is made by them via the withdrawal of labour (pardon the pun). This birthed (I’ll stop now) a hashtag on Twitter: #ADayWithoutAWoman.
