Deceit in the recruitment process can, in some instances, result in a prison sentence. So, it’s always best to be as honest as possible.
But sometimes, can one be too truthful? Take the two job postings below, seen in a local New Zealand newspaper.
The first job advert read: “Stockman required: 20-hours a week to feed bulls. Must be a non-smoker, wear his hat with the peak to the front and be capable of wearing his pants around his a**e not knees. Also needs to be able to divorce himself from his phone for more than two hours at a time.”
The other read: “Labourer required: to help pour 800 cubic metres of concrete. Can be a smoker – but will not have time.”
