Rackspace's Senior Director of Global Talent Development reveals 3 employee engagement essentials

There are a number of different ways to increase employee engagement, but before any strategy is put in place, there are some essential factors that need to be considered.

Expensive company trips abroad, lavish gifts or benefits are great… and there are also some relatively inexpensive ways to engage staff, but all will fall short without the necessary foundations to build upon.


For Rackspace, employee engagement is more than just a nicety. James Mitchell, Senior Director of Global Talent Development at the managed cloud computing company, says: “A lot of organisations put it out there that they’ve got a really strong set of values, but then you meet them and it’s almost as though you’ve just met a completely different group of people.”

Mitchell, who will be speaking at HR Grapevine’s annual event ‘The Magic of HR’ in March 2017', says that the key to truly successful employee buy-in and engagement comes down to three things.
