Meeting Customer Needs - It's the Law

Crown Duty Management Systems held its new half year conference for one of its key customer groups – UK police forces.

The Blue Light User Group (BLUG) session, at Lea Marston in Warwickshire, was held to update clients on product developments and provide them with a networking opportunity to discuss issues that affect them all.

The flexibility of the analytics package was among the topics presented. Each force must provide statistical reports to Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) and the criteria around the reporting methods is extremely stringent to ensure an accurate picture of force strength and capability.

The demands put on police forces today mean that focus is shifting and Crown is incorporating a framework to allow users to build on information capabilities to provide business intelligence and develop their services.

Development Manager Andy Neep, outlined the benefits of the new Manager Client facility within the suite which can now be used on IOS platforms, using a variety of browsers and on smart phones and tablet devices.

Sue Scott, Head of Customer Services said: “We have increased our BLUG meetings to twice yearly as they are the perfect opportunity to listen to our customers and find out how the demands upon police forces will change their requirements of us.

“In turn, we are able to garner feedback on the use of our products from a user’s perspective so that we can continue to develop the Crown Duty Management suite and meet future needs.”

The Crown DMS suite incorporates a host of solutions for duty management – from HR and time and attendance to rostering and analytics – which can be adapted to meet the complex organisational structure of each force.
