In last year's Autumn Budget the Chancellor announced his aim to have fully driverless cars on the roads by 2021, but is that realistic? And are fleet decision makers ready to have driverless cars amongst their company fleets?

“Those choosing their company’s fleet might be thankful to hear that this doesn’t mean we’ll all be taking our hands off the wheel by the time 2021 rolls around,” he explains. “As many critics have noted, the technology needed to get driverless cars up to speed and one step further away from a sci-fi fantasy is still a long way off. However, what it does mean is that it will soon be easier for manufacturers to test their vehicles on UK roads, meaning that a driverless future could be a lot closer than you think.”
