Optical Express CEO shines a lens on competitive new benefits

Until now, the value of experienced specialist optometrists hasn’t been recognised or rewarded in a consistent way across the industry.

David Moulsdale, CEO of Optical Express believes “it’s time to change that.”

Speaking to HR Grapevine, Moulsdale shines a light on how the firm are showing gratitude to their optometrists - especially when they have the ability to save lives.

One of his staff members, Amna, was able to identify a life-threatening symptom, consequently saving a 12-year-old boys life. He explains: “It's our expert Optometrists who carry out the initial eye tests at Optical Express, which not only establish someone’s prescription, but can also indicate underlying eye or general health conditions. An example of this, was our Optometrist Amna. After a routine eye test with a 12-year-old boy, her skills and quick thinking resulted in ensuring he received potentially lifesaving brain surgery the very next day.”
