General election 2017: How to handle politics in the workplace

Debate in the workplace, especially political debate, should, in my opinion, be encouraged and promoted. But there’s a line.

Calling someone a “loony leftie”, a “heartless Tory” or a “racist UKIPer” goes well beyond the healthy policy-based conversations that I so love.

So, what can employers do to ensure these issues do not arise and business as usual is maintained?
