Coaches Corner: How to create a supportive & nurturing work environment

Staff are stressed. That is a fact.

Only yesterday we reported that 46% of employees feel more stressed at work than they did a year ago, and that over one in ten are taking medication partly as a result of these pressures.

If these trends continue their upward route, creating a work environment that is supporting and nurturing will only increase in importance.  

Speaking to HR Grapevine, Anna Hickey, Managing Director of Maxus UK, detailed how the media company created a working environment that was so supportive and nurturing that it was named by The Sunday Times as one of the best places to work - something she says made them “incredibly proud,” especially as they were “ranked the highest agency of any marketing or communications discipline . . . [it was] a huge recognition of the incredible work everyone has put in to make our workplace culture what it is”.
