Deutsche Bank's Brexit-boost for London & worker's bonus windfall

Despite fears about a Brexit-sparked exodus, Deutsche Bank has chosen a new office for its British-based operations and has rewarded around one in 20 of their staff with shares in a £950million bonus.

According to Reuters, the German lender has chosen a new building in the City of London, indicating a desire to stay in the UK after they break away from the European Union.

Garth Ritchie, Deutsche Bank's UK Chief Executive, said: "The move underlines the bank's commitment to the City of London and the importance it attaches to being an employer of choice in the capital.”

Deutsche Bank, who employs around 7,000 people in London, is due to begin transferring staff to the new building, which will house its corporate and investment bank, in the second half of 2023.
