Lessons from... Lion

Lion, the film, depicts the true-life story of Saroo Brierley, a five-year-old adventurous child from Khandwa, India, who gets lost in Kolkata.

Based on the non-fiction book A Long Way Home by Saroo Brierley, the tale begins with Saroo begging his brother, Guddu to let him come to work with him. However, after falling asleep and boarding a decommissioned passenger train, he ends up 1,600 km away from his home - lost in Kolkata.

Unable to speak Bengali or find his parents, Saroo gets placed in an orphanage before getting adopted by an Australian couple. 25 years later, he is taunted by memories of his home, and so, embarks on retracing his Indian family.
