With the new year almost into the second month, attentions, for some of us, turn to changing our job – especially as wellness fads, crash diets and gym regimens may have already been forgotten.
Job changes can be sparked by a wish to change career; to feel more appreciated, or challenged, by your current company; or, simply, to earn more money.
The latter is a topic that has vexed employees for a long time: will loyalty increase your pay-packet or will jumping-ship ensure that the grass (see: money) is greener and more abundant on the other side?
Big media tends to focus on the pay packets of those at the bottom – such as gig economy workers – and those at the top. The compensation packages of charity CEOs, which some are calling inequitable, have recently received such attention.
