Deliveroo HR: Feedback is an ongoing dialogue, not something to fear

Whether it’s a quick comment or detailed discussion, feedback is a crucial part of performance management for any business. We caught up with Beth Clutterbuck, VP Global Head of People at Deliveroo, to explore the company’s approach to evaluating employee performance, both on and offline.

Why is employee feedback important to Deliveroo?

Feedback is essential because lets people know how they are doing in real-time. Staff need to know their strengths and weaknesses, so they can either keep on the same path, or course-correct.

If they’re doing well in a particular area, you want them to amplify what they’re doing and continue to crush it. If they need to do something differently, it’s better for them to know immediately than to wait and let the issue linger. That’s when it becomes a much bigger problem than it needs to be.
