Notably, one singled out HR failings as a contributing factor, with the function named in two protected disclosures.
For context, an August employment tribunal upheld 11 of 14 detriment claims levied by Professor Wyn Evans, an astrophysicist at the University of Cambridge's Institute of Astronomy, after he raised concerns about the treatment of female staff members.
The panel directly referenced a 'mishandling of this matter by the University’s HR Department', and attributed failings of the internal handling (at least in part) to negative views held about the claimant which ossified among HR staff.
