HSBC has introduced epilepsy awareness training in a move to boost workplace accessibility and create safer, more inclusive environments for staff.
It comes through a partnership with Epilepsy Action, a charity that is supporting the bank with the training delivery. The two organisations are also collaborating on research into how workplaces can be adapted to better support those with photosensitive epilepsy.
Roughly one in every 100 people in the UK are affected by epilepsy, with a further 80 diagnosed each day.
Why HSBC is delivering epilepsy training
HSBC is running face-to-face training for its First Aiders, to ensure they have the necessary level of knowledge to respond appropriately if a colleague or member of the public were to have a seizure.
