E.ON UK has become one of the first employers to sign up to the Government’s newly launched AI and Automation practitioner apprenticeship, in a move it says will form a key part of its long-term workforce skills development strategy.
Speaking to HR Grapevine, Sally Lane, Head of People Development at the energy company, said the scheme will ensure staff will gain “recognised qualifications and technical expertise” in AI and related areas.
The government launched the apprenticeship through Skills England in March, as it aims to upskill 10 million workers in AI by 2030, and help businesses “boost productivity and adopt emerging technology safely and responsibly.”
E.ON among first to adopt AI apprenticeship
E.ON UK has already enrolled two staff into the Level 4 AI and Automation apprenticeship, with a further two set to join.
