The British Medical Association is facing the threat of a pay row within its own ranks, as it attempts to navigate a salary increase for resident doctors.

It comes after the body failed to deliver a pay increase for its workers at or above the level of inflation.

GMB, the union which represents some BMA employees, accused the association of pay erosion as it simultaneously campaigns for pay restoration on behalf of its members.

BMA faces pay row headache

According to the Guardian, BMA staff represented by GMB – including communication officers, IT specialists, negotiators, and policy experts, alongside general admin workers – were offered a below-inflation pay rise of 2.75%.
