Agentic artificial intelligence has “reconfigured” some roles at GSK, a talent leader at the pharmaceutical firm has revealed, as it explores ways to help staff eliminate routine work and focus on more “high-value” tasks.
Speaking exclusively to HR Grapevine, Zaka Farhat, SVP of Talent, said that AI tools and agents have “automated routine tasks and amplified decision making with faster insights.”
The changes have enabled GSK employees to shift their focus from manual or admin-heavy tasks to more impactful work, including “strategy, complex problem solving, relationship building, and creative or ethical judgment where human context matters most.”

GSK has implemented agents across its organisation, including an AI ‘scientist’, which assists its early research and clinical development efforts.
