UK businesses must ensure they have an effective workplace wellbeing strategy in place as they cannot afford “lost energy or wasted capacity,” the Confederation of British Industry’s (CBI) HR chief has warned.
Asha Musoni, Chief People Officer, said that in a low-growth economy, employers with poor job design, a lack of psychological safety, and unmanaged conflict will risk further drains on employee productivity.
The majority of employers (67%) reported a rise in health and wellbeing issues in the workplace over the past year, according to an Institute of Occupational Health and Safety (IOSH) study published earlier in February.
Wellbeing woes shaping UK performance outcomes
Speaking to HR Grapevine, Musoni said that wellbeing challenges are “directly affecting productivity, retention, and organisational performance.”
