Companies in the defence sector are facing a ‘relentless barrage’ of cyber attacks targeted at their employees and hiring processes, a report from Google has warned.
The cyber espionage campaigns, often state-sponsored, are targeting companies across the Uk, US, and Europe, the report said.
Luke McNamara, Deputy Chief Analyst for the Google Threat Intelligence Group, told the Guardian that the shift toward more “personalised” attacks presents a significant “personnel” issue to employers.

The report was published ahead of the Munich Security Conference. It suggested that firms across the defence industry, alongside aerospace firms and carmakers, have been targeted by the influx of cyber operations.
