A Metropolitan Police call centre manager who posed as Ronan Keating and targeted a colleague with unwanted gifts and messages has avoided prison.
Wayne O’Sullivan, 46, carried out the campaign of harassment against Samantha Davis while working at the Met's Command and Control centre in London. Between 30 March and 5 June last year, he even claimed the Boyzone star was his cousin.
As reported by The Telegraph, O’Sullivan appeared at Croydon magistrates’ court this week, having previously denied a single charge of harassment, but was found guilty after trial. The court handed him an 18-month community order, which includes 28 days of rehabilitation activity, as well as a two-year restraining order barring contact with Ms Davis.

Prosecutor Ross Davies said O’Sullivan used a fake WhatsApp profile to send “lengthy and abusive” messages and, at one point, “approached her and threw an envelope on her desk”. He also transferred £25 to Ms Davis with a “Happy Birthday” message and “repeatedly threatened to notify her husband of a supposed affair with a former work colleague”.
