‘Bullying colleagues’ | Asda clashes with union over extra 'coaching' for lowest-performing staff

Asda has pledged to expand coaching and training for underperforming staff, amid wider efforts to turn around its slumping financial results.

Only the lowest-performing employees, around one-fifth of Asda’s workforce, will participate in the extra training courses, according to a report from the Telegraph.

The supermarket chain hopes that giving team members extra support will ensure they “excel in their roles” and improve the quality of customer service.

A union representing staff, however, has warned the initiative could lead to bullying, heightened stress, and poor workplace wellbeing.
