The European Central Bank has confirmed it will extend a popular ‘work-from-anywhere’ policy that allows employees to work remotely for nearly half of the working year.
Employees at the bank will now enjoy the benefits of the teleworking scheme, introduced in 2023, until 2027. The ECB says the hybrid approach is critical to its efforts to attract and retain talent in a competitive market.
ECB executives confirmed the extension of the policy after a listening survey which revealed overwhelmingly positive feedback from employees, who praised the scheme's impact on their work-life balance.
What is the European Central Bank’s ‘work-from-anywhere’ policy?
The ECB’s hybrid policy goes further than permitting to staff to work from home. Under the newly extended scheme, employees can work from anywhere in the EU for up to 90 days a year, and from anywhere outside the EU for a further 20 days.
