Valentine's Day | The debate around romance in the workplace

With Valentine’s Day upon us, new research has reignited the debate over workplace relationships, revealing that while office romances are common, they remain a divisive issue among employers.

A survey by global employment solutions provider Employment Hero found that a third (32%) of UK managers believe employees should disclose romantic relationships with colleagues to management or HR.

However, opinions on the matter vary significantly - 28% of managers say disclosure should only be required when necessary, while 24% believe office romances should remain private altogether. 

A further 15% take a stricter stance, arguing that romantic relationships should be avoided at work entirely.
