As National Apprenticeship Week (February 10-16) shines a light on alternative routes into the workforce, Deloitte’s apprenticeship programmes serve as a prime example of how young talent can build successful careers without following the traditional university route. With nearly 250 apprentices set to join Deloitte’s next intake, the firm’s commitment to early careers is clear.
One such success story is Daisy Wootton, a 19-year-old billing assistant in Deloitte’s Cardiff office.
Having successfully completed her entry-level business administration apprenticeship in October 2024, Daisy has already made significant strides in her career - earning a silver award in the Apprentice of the Year category at the CNECT Wales awards.
Choosing an apprenticeship over university
Daisy (pictured below right), originally from Surrey, always knew she wanted a career in professional services but wasn’t sure how to make it happen. While halfway through her A-levels, she came across a publication listing the top school leaver employers and discovered Deloitte’s apprenticeship opportunities.
