Like me, I’m sure many of you will be glued to your TV screens on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings throughout January.
A new series of ‘The Traitors’ is upon us, and it’s already delivering everything we hoped it would: Contestant meltdowns, dramatic hood unveilings, and of course, Claudia Winkleman’s iconic fringe, fake tan, and fingerless gloves combo. Proper telly.
It has also triggered a customary flurry of ‘What the Traitors can teach us about…’ articles and social media posts, as content creators and editors (guilty) try to ride on aunty Claud's coattails.
I’m not here to judge. In fact, I could have written this entire article without mentioning the reality show at all. But when I saw Cornell University published research revealing that employers may be eroding trust by ‘hoodwinking’ employees, on the same day a Traitors episode aired? Well, it was an open goal I couldn’t afford to miss.
