Grief Awareness Week took place in early December, serving as a vital reminder for employers about the importance of supporting staff navigating the challenges of loss. 

Organised annually by the Good Grief Trust, this year's central theme urged people to 'shine a light' on the outstanding bereavement services up and down the country. 

And with one in ten employees grieving at any given time, workplaces have a major role to play in creating caring environments for grieving employees - ones that offer understanding and flexibility to foster both wellbeing and productivity.

Understanding grief & its impact in the workplace

Grief encompasses psychological, social, emotional, and biological responses to loss, and while it may follow a general pattern, it is never a straightforward journey.
