Saying goodbye to a devoted member of staff after they’ve served a long stint at your organisation due to retirement is a sad occasion.
The reason why they would have stayed so long is because they value your company, felt appreciated, and was developed adequately, most probably. Often, this type of employee is a testament to the successes of your people strategy.
However, it’s not always easy giving your employee leaving the correct send-off. But doing this properly, just like onboarding appropriately, is very important to employee experience at your firm.
This topic has been no better exemplified than at this years’ Wimbledon, where spectators are saying a final goodbye to Andy Murray, who played his final ever game at the event before going into retirement.
