When remote work started to get introduced into businesses, families and households across the world were tasked with being the home to often multiple employees from a variety of different industries and firms.
This caused people to get creative with the spaces they were choosing to work in. Some people chose to sit down at the common workspace of the kitchen table or home office, while others might have chosen to work from the garden if the weather was nice.
Working from home during the pandemic, and the same still applies now, also highlights the socioeconomic situations of people who might all be in the same workforce. For example, not everyone has the privilege of having a home office or space for multiple people to all be remote all at once.
Above everything, working from home has shed light on its value in empowering people to make their working days unique and accommodating of their own individualistic needs. For some people, this means leaving the house altogether and going to cafes, shared working spaces, and in some cases, going to the pub.
