Ramadan in the UK workplace: Balancing legal, cultural & practical considerations

Millions of Muslims in the UK and around the world are days away from embarking on a month of fasting, prayer, and reflection.

This year, Ramadan is expected to begin between the evening of Sunday March 10, and Monday March 11. The exact start date will be based on the visibility of the new crescent moon, and will be confirmed closer to the expected start date.

The holy period, which ends with Eid al-Fitr on or around April 9-10, is a period significantly impacts the daily routines of Muslim employees.
