UK businesses are losing almost £9 billion a year to office management, a new study has found.

Scaling business leaders are spending more than nine weeks a year – more than 17% of their time – on office management, according to new research from Huckletree, a flexible workspace brand.

Conducted in partnership with YouGov, the research explores how much time leaders of scaling businesses are losing to managing their office spaces, as well as the tasks that are taking up their time and what they would prefer to be focusing their time on when it comes to managing and scaling their enterprise.

It finds that, across all industries, leaders would spend more time on business strategy and development (34%) if they had more time at work, followed by operations (30%) and finance and accounting (19%).
