A leading think-tank has suggested that wages are not growing as strongly as statistics have shown, the Financial Times (FT) reports.
According to The Resolution Foundation – a think-tank focused on improving the living standards for those on low to middle incomes – underlying wage growth in the UK isn’t as strong as official statistics have indicated.
The reason for this, as was reported on by the publication, is because pay increases have been boosted by the end of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) – more commonly referred to as furlough.
