Many companies are currently facing what has been called a ‘staff exodus’ - or more commonly defined as a mass migration of workers away from their current employers.
A recent example to hit headlines was Domino’s Pizza who announced that they were looking to hire 5,000 staff as workers who joined the firm amid the pandemic headed back to previous roles.
Whilst some staff are likely to move purely because they intended to anyway, others are voting with their feet on their companies’ handling of the crisis and the way they looked after staff.
And for some, this will continue to be a huge struggle, as many industries are also facing a crippling staff shortage, bolstered by a current major decline in EU workers. Grapevine Leaders recently reported on one case of a boss who was forced to work as a dishwasher due to being unable to fill a long-term vacant position.
