One thing the coronavirus pandemic has shifted is employees’ thoughts on working life. Before, week days were filled with commuting, sitting at a desk in an office for up to eight hours or more, and spending little time with friends of family.

Now, however, pandemic-fuelled remote working has allowed staff to enjoy more of their own time and embrace a healthy work-life balance. This has meant that more employees now want to continue working from home and do not want to return to the workplace full-time in future.

Data has also pointed towards this. For example, Future Forum by Slack conducted a three-month survey of over 9,000 knowledge workers or skilled office workers around the world and revealed in December last year that nearly one-third of workers don’t want to ever return to the office.

While employees are reluctant to return, it seems that CEOs and company bosses are far more eager to go back.
