Amazon | Jeff Bezos claims that firm must 'do a better job' for staff

Tech giant Amazon is no stranger to damning allegations when it comes to the treatment of its staff.

Reports from 2018 revealed that warehouse workers were under such immense pressure that they were unable to leave their duties to go to the bathroom. Meanwhile, a separate report from workers’ rights platform Organise supported these allegations, and alleged that 74% of workers avoided using the toilet for fear of being chastised by managers.

This report in particular prompted Amazon to respond last month to the allegations on Twitter, however the firm was soon accused of gaslighting.

The Amazon News account tweeted: “You don’t really believe the peeing in bottles thing, do you? If that were true, nobody would work for us. The truth is that we have over a million incredible employees around the world who are proud of what they do, and have great wages and health care from day one.”
