If the coronavirus crisis has done anything, its shown business leaders that what they believed was the best way to lead may not have necessarily been the case.
This is partly due to the fact that the vast majority of employees were forced to work remotely, and are continuing to do so, which meant the traditional methods of leading a workforce face-to-face went out of the window.
While many business leaders panicked and opted to roll out spyware to ensure their staff were working from home – data from the TUC revealed last year that one in seven employees said that ‘intrusive tech’ has increased at work since the pandemic hit – and others chose to micromanage more, there is another method of leadership business leaders should consider.
It’s what’s known as ‘agile leadership’.
